Created on the 16th of June 2018, Cloudless is a play-by-post roleplay site based on Warriors, a book series by Erin Hunter also commonly referred to as Warrior Cats. Cloudless is also an unofficial revamp of Virtual Warrior World.
Cloudless is set in an alternate universe to the Warriors one. The Clans have been replaced by IceClan, FireClan, TreeClan, and RockClan, and StarClan by CloudClan. However, the Clans no longer believe in CloudClan but for a few stubborn believers. The skies are empty of clouds but for the thinnest of cirrostratus and the rare cirrus, and have been for a very long time. The Clans thought nothing of this at first. But moons passed, and so did seasons. Still, there were no clouds.
Now the land is bleak and barren. Rain is rare. Prey is scarce. Trees are dead. Rivers are dry. The clans are down to a few cats and will do anything to survive. Borders mean more than they ever did before. Fights ensuing over the stealing of prey and herbs have become a regular occurrence. Killing elders and kits was once unheard of, but no longer.
The Clans no longer follow the warrior code but for a few honourable cats. Trespassing and stealing prey has become commonplace, for it is necessary to survive. Elders are seen as a burden and are no longer first priority - the leader, deputy, medicine cats, and the senior warriors are instead. Kits are killed when prey is too scarce. No longer is there a truce at Gatherings, and no longer do cats care for kits from other Clans. Many cats have abandoned their Clans in pursuit of an easier life - whether it be as a rogue, loner, or kittypet. Medicine cats are allowed to take mates and have kits as long as they are not the only medicine cat and prey is sufficient, for new Clan members are greatly valued in times like these. Clans will argue over mere tail-lengths of territory if only for another mouse, another herb, another day alive.
