Please don't have the same name as a character in the books.
If the character is relatively unknown, it's okay as long as your character is not identical to them.

— prefixes
A prefix is allowed if at least one of the following apply:
i. It describes or represents the cat's physical appearance.
e.g. When Rusty joined ThunderClan, he was named Firepaw for his ginger fur.
ii. It honours another cat by referencing their name.
e.g. Leafstar named one of her kits Firekit, in honour of Firestar.
iii. It references a significant event that occurred near or on the day they were born.
e.g. Stormkit was named for the storm that occurred on the day he was born.
A prefix is not allowed if it does not fulfil any of the criteria for an allowed prefix and/or if any of the following apply:
i. It describes or represents the cat's eye colour.
Kits do not open their eyes at birth, and when they do their eyes will be blue for one or two months, and will only change into their final colour when they are three months old.
ii. It is the name of a Clan.
'Ice', 'Fire', 'Tree', 'Rock', and 'Death' are not allowed. However, 'Thunder', 'Shadow', 'River', 'Wind', and 'Sky' are allowed.
iii. It is something feral cats would not know of (let's just pretend cats aren't colourblind).
e.g. 'Diamond', 'Acid', 'Dagger', and 'North' are not allowed because diamond is a precious stone, acid is a chemical substance, daggers are manmade weapons, and north is a compass direction.
iv. It is or was once sacred.
'Cloud', 'Star', and 'Shimmering' are not allowed because CloudClan is what the cats call their warrior ancestors, '-star' was once a suffix used exclusively for leaders, and 'Shimmering' refers to Shimmering Rocks.
v. It is a word Clan cats do not use.
e.g. 'Summer', 'Autumn', 'Winter', and 'Spring' are not allowed, because the Clans only ever call these greenleaf, leaf-fall, leafbare, and newleaf respectively.
vi It is an abstract concept.
e.g. 'Dream', 'Wish', 'Spirit', and 'Soul' are not allowed, because prefixes must be physical or concrete concepts.
vii. It is vague.
e.g. 'Life', 'Death', 'Pain', and 'Pleasure' are not allowed, because they do not describe a kit's appearance.
viii. It is a personality trait.
e.g. 'Kind', 'Brave', 'Quiet', and 'Loud' are not allowed, because a newborn kit will not display any significant personality traits.
ix. It describes a physical trait a kit does not have.
e.g. 'Beautiful', 'Handsome', 'Lovely', and 'Pretty' are not allowed, because kits' faces are largely indistinguishable.
x. It describes or represents a negative trait.
e.g. 'Ugly', 'Doomed', 'Cursed', and 'Wretched' are not allowed, because they are disparaging and demeaning.
xi. It is violent or otherwise disturbing.
e.g. 'Blood', 'Bone', 'Dead', and 'Scarred' are not allowed, because they are inappropriate and deprecating.
If the character is relatively unknown, it's okay as long as your character is not identical to them.
