You saved me! Just let me be someone who deserves it.
The shining sun cascaded from the heavens, warming Lionfur's face. It gave the young leader a golden hue, his long fur smoothed down and freshly cleaned. He leaned his head back slightly and blinked open his eyes, adjusting to the brightness of his den. The heat and humidity of the day was horrible, however he tried to ignore it as he remembered he was due to take his new apprentice, Lupinepaw out. The warriors of the clan had been busy lately, with food scarce and TreeClan pushing at the border, there were hunting and border patrols one after the other. So, to ease his mind, Lion decided to take on one of the older apprentices, who was almost finished with training.
They were getting a late start to their day, but hopefully it would have given Lupinepaw enough time to eat something, Lion himself skipping breakfast to save whatever was left for the kits and queens.
Lion caught Lupine's eye after spotting him near the apprentices den, beckoning him with his tail to follow behind. He didn't check to see if had had listened, just assumed, for the kid might have been bored out of his mind listening to complaining warriors and whining kits all day. And although Lion was also frustrated with the hardships the clan was experiencing, he was tired of everyone whining about it, too.
The IceClan leader smiled softly once the faint scent of bluebells hit him, breathing it in slowly. He stopped walking once they were at a small clearing, a couple trees shading them, though they were mostly surrounded by the sweet smelling flowers. Lion cleared his throat before speaking, looking over his shoulder to blink twice at Lupinepaw.

"You are my new apprentice, however, you've been an apprentice for a while. I refuse to waste our time going over the warriors code, or giving you a tour of the land. It is much more important for us to work on your hunting and fighting skils." Lion paused, smirking slightly at Lupinepaw. Cats had told him about how much the tom enjoyed a good fight, and Lion was prepared to honor that. "Why don't we start with a spar? Perhaps the loser hunts the winners dinner, eh?"
