Is it acceptable to make a character with a mental disorder/shows symptoms of a mental disorder as long as you do so respectfully and also do your research to have as full of a understanding of the disorder as possible?
I'm not talking about cognitive disorders, which I'd assume wouldn't be allowed if it was much more than mild because of the rough conditions the cats in Cloudless live under.
I'm talking more of anxiety related disorders (general anxiety and all its other variations, insomnia, etc.) to even schizophrenia.
Of course, again, if I or anyone else wasn't already familiar with the symptoms and pains of having such illnesses, then I (or anyone else) would have to do research on said disorder. Perhaps to prove that I or anyone else was mature enough to handle a character like that responsibly we could PM a mod your understanding of the disorder and how it plays out in our characters' lives?
